Christ Ahnsahnghong’s Death & Bible Prophecy

When I first heard about Christ Ahnsahnghong, I had many questions. One of them was, “How come he already died?” And I was determined to find an answer to Christ Ahnsahnghong’s death. After six months of trying to search on my own, I realized I would never find it anywhere. But I needed to study the Bible.

Two thousand years ago, the disciples recognized Christ because the Scriptures prophesied about Him. And they saw Him fulfill them all. It is the same today. God left us many prophecies in the Old and New Testaments to allow us to recognize Him when He comes in the human form a second time. One of those prophecies is about the spiritual King David. And in this prophecy is the answer concerning Christ Ahnsahnghong’s death.

Prophecies About King David

Hosea 3:5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.

To seek God’s blessing, God’s people must go to King David in the last days.

Ezekiel 34:11-24 “‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land….I will place over them one shepherd and he will tend them and be their shepherd. I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.’”

And here’s one more prophecy that Ezekiel wrote:

Ezekiel 37: 24-27 “‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees….David my servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant.…I will be their God, and they will be my people.’”

First, God said He will tend over His sheep. Then, he says that David will be the only shepherd over His sheep. Through this, God lets us know that He will come in the name of David. Ezekiel wrote this about 450 years after King David’s death. Obviously, these prophecies are not about the physical King David but about a spiritual King David.

Prophecies About Jesus Coming as King David

Isaiah 9:6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

About 700 years before the birth of Jesus, the prophet Isaiah wrote that a child was going to be born in the future and he would carry the title of “Everlasting Father.” Through this prophecy, again, God lets us know He will be born in the human form as the spiritual King David.

Luke 1:31-32 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.

Jesus Christ received the throne of David. So it’s important to understand the relationship between Jesus and King David.

Jesus Is the Prophetical King David

David was 30 years old when he became king. And Jesus was 30 years old when He was baptized and began His gospel ministry.

2 Samuel 5:4 (NLT) David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in all.

Luke 3:23 (NLT) Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his public ministry.

Jesus could have been baptized at any other age. He was born to preach, then why did He wait until he turned 30 to start preaching? He could’ve easily started at a much younger age and accomplished much more.

Additionally, King David reigned forty years. Then what does this mean about Jesus’ gospel ministry?

Christ Ahnsahnghong was born in 1918 and was baptized in 1948 at 30 years old. He preached for 37 years before His death in order to fulfill the prophecy of King David’s forty-year reign.

At the end of his reign, Kind David passed away and was buried. In the same way, Christ Ahnsahnghong passed away in 1985 after preaching for 37 years. Christ Ahnsahnghong’s death lets us know He is Second Coming Christ who fulfilled prophecy.

Christ Ahnsahnghong’s Death

Christ Ahnsahnghong even prophesied about His death in a religious magazine in Korea.

The Church of God believes that the Second Coming Christ is to appear in this age and that he is to appear in the flesh with eyes, nose, mouth and ears. 

The Church of God explains, “Jesus has to come a second time in the flesh because the new covenant he established at his first coming was abolished during the Dark Ages. So the Lord himself has to come again to restore the truth of life, the new covenant, and to seek his people.”

“The Second Coming Jesus has to come to the earth in secret and pass away after preaching the gospel for 37 years. The reason he has to preach for 37 years is because David reigned on the throne for 40 years, but Jesus was crucified after preaching for only three years, so the Second Coming Jesus has to preach for 37 years so that he can complete the 40-year-reign,” says the Church of God. 

Many people see Christ Ahnsahnghong’s death as a determent from believing He is Second Coming Christ. However, his death is the proof that He is Second Coming Christ.
