The Second Coming of Jesus in 1948
While sitting on the Mount of Olives 2,000 years ago, Jesus spoke to His disciples about His second coming. When they asked when would be the sign of His return, Jesus told them to learn the lesson of the fig tree.
Matthew 24: 32 (NLT) “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things, you can know his return is very near, right at the door.”
In the Bible, the fig tree represents Israel (Jer 24:5). So, first, it’s important to understand what happened to Israel after Jesus Christ ascended to heaven.
Everything seemed prepared for an immediate attack on Jerusalem, but during the summer of 68 C.E. Vespasian learned of the emperor Nero’s [death]. The death of the reigning emperor meant that Vespasian’s commission as general had expired; accordingly, he discontinued his military activities. In the summer of 69 C.E., Vespasian had himself proclaimed emperor. He left Judea and returned to Rome in order to establish his own imperial power. By the end of the year he had succeeded. Some months later, in the spring of 70 C.E., Vespasian once again turned his attention to Judea.
In the spring of 70 C.E., the Romans, under Titus, besieged the city and cut off all supplies and all means of escape.
Late August of 70 C.E., the Temple was destroyed. Titus and his troops spent the next month subduing the rest of the city and collecting loot as the reward for their victory.

According to history, the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem in AD 70. It is estimated that 1.1 million Israelites were killed and thousands were scattered throughout the world. But, Christ’s fig tree lesson indicated that once Israel (the fig tree) started to bud again, it was the signal that Christ was again on the earth.
The Leaves of the Fig Tree Come Out
Following World War II, in 1948, Israel regained its independence. Though for 1,900 years, the land had been under Roman, Ottoman, and British rule, the Israelites gained their country back.
The first independent Jewish State in 19 centuries was born in Tel Aviv as the British Mandate over Palestine came to an end at midnight on Friday.

The fig tree that had once withered was now flourishing, signaling the coming of Christ. In 1948, Christ Ahnsahnghong was baptized at the age of 30 in accordance with the prophecy of King David. And he started to preach the New Covenant Passover, also as it was prophesied.
Revelation 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

There isn’t another country that has come back 1900 years after it was destroyed. This surely is the work of God! I didn’t know that it was the sign of the second coming though.
Truly how amazing is the sign our God left us so we can correctly recognize the fact that He has already come! No other nation in human history has been restored after being destroyed for almost 2000 years! All praises and glory and honor and power be to our God Christ Ahnsahnghong who has already come a second time to this earth to restore all the truth and bring us salvation! (Heb 9:28, Isa 25:6-9)
