Is God the Mother False Doctrine?
Many people come up with a number of explanations to call God the Mother false doctrine. They say it’s not a biblical teaching and that the World Mission Society made up this concept. They say this is our own interpretation.
As you’ve seen from previous posts, we believe that even from the first page in Genesis, God the Mother appears.
Genesis 1:26 (NLT) Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
Here, God says they will make human beings in their plural image. Therefore, the image of God is not only one – but two. And it is proven in the verse that follows.
Genesis 1:27 (NLT) Then God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God’s image is seen through the image of human beings – male and female. So God the Mother does exists despite people’s allegations.
The “Us” is Not the Trinity
One of people’s interpretation is that the “us” in Genesis is the Trinity. However, through the video below (courtesy of worldmissionsociety.com), you can see why this is not the case.
You may also want to check out my previous posts that go into detail about the trinity and why the “us” in Genesis is not the Trinity, and the explanation that the “us” in Genesis cannot be God and the angels either.
